Early in January, I had a thoroughly good time photographing Slait Farm near Gillingham, Dorset so the photos could be used to update their website. Their website was sadly very out of date and not mobile-responsive – in need of some real TLC.
I had a lovely introductory meeting with Nicki and Charles Baxter who welcome guests to their Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast, had a look around to get my bearings, and then I set about looking for the right photos to show off their guest rooms.
There were so many images I could have taken – and I took rather a lot! The house is full of character with cosy fireplaces, huge bookcases stuffed with all matter of reading material, little corners to settle down with a cup of tea for a rest after a day out, and lovely bedrooms with everything their guests could need – I particularly loved the Champagne bucket in one room which was full of fluffy hot water bottles, perfect for a chilly winter’s night!
The updated website with the new photos shows off their Bed and Breakfast as it should be shown – welcoming, characterful and a wonderful place to stay for their guests who come to Dorset to work and to visit local attractions as well as tourist spots and events in Somerset and Wiltshire, as well as the Jurassic coast just about an hour away.
And, as I left, Charles kindly came chasing after me to give me a scrumptious home made cake which Nicki had freshly baked. What more could I possibly ask than that!
Do have a look at Slait Farm’s website and see what you think. Perhaps you might even like to stay there.
